Hi Chad. As for the lock on the canopy, if I'm being honest...it's ok, not great. The windows does have a flap that covers the tailgate and if you lock the window, in theory nobody should be able to get into the tailgate. The reality is that the ARE lock is nothing more than a deterrent to keep honest people honest. It's flimsy and if anyone *really* wants in, they are going to get in. I always lock my tailgate, it's one more precaution that in my book is well worth doing. That tailgate is expensive as are the tail lights which come off with 2 screws. Keep it buttoned up buddy!!! :)

I love the cover. I just ordered the same one for my 05 F150. A quick question though, does the cap window hold the tailgate shut for security or do you also need to lock the tailgate?

Hey Geegs, thanks! The Camburg kit itself is hard to judge when it comes to the feel of the suspension (it's really just the upper A-arms). The Fox shocks are certainly better than the factory ones. The MASSIVE difference is in the rest of the suspension which I will cover in part 2. That part of the suspension makes the truck ride like an entirely new vehicle and it's NIGHT and DAY difference. More to come soon!

I love what your doing with your truck & have gleaned much from your approach.

Q: Has the Camburg Suspension upgrade effected the On-Road handling & feel?

I suspect the Fox Shocks might improve how it feels around town. Is that what your finding?
Keep it up. Looking forward to your next update. Geegs!

Just wanted to say your job here is amazing. I found all this from the F150 forums. Quick question, did you remove the stock exhaust completely to sand and paint it? I want to do the same to mine as I am with you, 200 bucks for a black exhaust tip seems like highway robbery. I also have a black 2011 F150 SCrew and put a 4in Rancho lift on it with RBP 94R Black with chrome inserts, wheels on it and its badass... the only thing that sticks out now is the OEM exhaust pipe.

Hi CJ. I did not have to put an amp on the PA, although it was not as loud as I was hoping. I suppose if I needed to have the PA while driving on the road, I would need an amp to juice it up, but since I use it for BS more than anything, I am keeping it stock for now.

Hi Chris. The kit did not require any leveling of the headlights. There's no setting that will run the brow lights only as daytime running lights, but what I do is just turn on the parking lights which power the brow lights and halo's without the lights coming on.

Hey Frank,

Did you have to do any leveling once they were installed? Can you set the eye brow lights as daytime running?

Thanks,

Hey Frank, enjoyed reading your blog and looking at you new Ecoboost F150. It would have been a bit of a struggle for me get rid of the Stang being and old fan of the Ford muscle-car days. I've enjoyed my Oxford White 2010 XLT Screw a lot and only regret not waiting one more model year for an Ecoboost.

Come joy me on my low budget New Generation F150 Forums.

Hey Tony! Sounds like you had one heck of a nice truck. I've also come from owning 3 prior Ford trucks and traded my '06 Mustang for the EcoBoost. I loved the pony, but here in WA, the truck made a whole lot more sense for my needs. Can't wait to see your mods, you should find me over on F150forums.com and PM me. Would love to see the progress on your truck. Keep me posted and if you have a blog, let me know and post the link here. Thanks man!

Hey frank, I just purchased a 2011 f150 Fx4 Eco boost, it is a black beauty..
I love this truck.
my trade in was an 06 F150 FX4 black of course but it had the 5.4 V8 and a 5.5 bed. I had done some mods like banks torque tubes ( headers) and K&N cold air intake, edge programmer, Flow master exhaust. Rear seat monitor and upfront in the pass visor had another monitor with the dvd mounted low in the dash. I installed a leveling kit and also air bags in the back as my wife would not go camping unless we had everything you would normally have in a home, now in a trailer that is 30' long and weighs over 8K. I had a bedrug in the back and also a cover for the bed. it was exactly they way I wanted it. many people gave me compliments on how nice a truck I had, then ford had to come out with the Eco-boost and got me curious about better mileage and towing power.

this new truck has much more room inside the cab and I also got the 6.5 bed. I have Toyo mud countrys on the stock rims since I think they look good. well I too have many more mods planned for this truck. I will keep an eye on your progress.
Hey sometime we should hook up and check out each others truck I live in Auburn Washington.
Good luck with the build.

Great to see someone interested in modifying their new F-150 Ecoboost. Let me know if you might be interested in some of the parts we are developing.

Thanks Dean! Glad you guys enjoyed the story. I'm going to put that Vedavoo pack to good use! I'm learning more about my new passion every day and only regret so far is that I didn't know what fly fishing was about earlier in life. 30+ years living in south FL that I could have been chasing Tarpon and Bonefish, but at least now I have Salmon and Trout. :) You have a new follower as well. :) Thanks again!!!
