Driving Across the USA

TXWhat a nutty past few days it's been. We left south FL on Christmas morning (afternoon actually) and have been driving since. We stopped in Tallahassee, FL for the first night, and stopped again in Houston, TX last night. So far the plan is to do the long-haul across TX today and try to make El Paso. Let me tell ya, I-10 is one BORING road. So far the most interesting thing we have seen was the devastation in New Orleans from hurricane Katrina. Man, that place is still a ghost-town. It's amazing that our President, our government, our elected officials have literally forgotten about and written off an entire US city and nobody seems to give a crap. When you see a Walmart pull out of town and things like amusement parks completely abandoned and left to rot, you have to know things are bad. I have been through a lot of the states in our country and I can whole-heartedly say the the last place in North America I would ever want to live is in the state of Louisiana. I sure hope those people in New Orleans found new homes and made a new life, that town is gone. Hopefully things will start getting a little more scenic once we get out of Texas. Time to get back on the road...hope everyone is having a great holiday....
