Report: Ford to Outsource IT, Engineering to India
As if US auto-makers don't have enough problems right now, it looks like Ford will be adding to the unemployment rate by shipping even more US jobs overseas to India. This is exactly the kind of actions that will eventually lead to a MAJOR technology crisis in this country in the not too distant future. I am a veteran and have always believed in buying American, but it seems that even American made products aren't American anymore. I love my Ford F-150, but my next car is going to be a BMW and I don't feel an ounce of regret. By the time American corporations feel the effects of what they are doing now to save a buck, it will be all but too late to recover.

Frank!
Say it ain't so... what about the duelly?
I'm sorry to say that I agree with you wholeheartedly. Since Australia's only local car manufacturer is part of GM I feel absolutely no compulsion to stick with the make.
There is a good reason why my last 3 cars/trucks have been Toyotas... they are just made so much better.
What you're seeing is not an example of American manufacturers selling out their country, but an industry that has failed to meet and anticipate market expections repeatedly. Instead of pro-actively trying to remain competitive home and abroad, they have instead been too busy lobbying the US government and feeling too secure in an amero-centric view of the world economy.
It's time to wake up and smell the roses, and they don't smell too good right now.

Rob, I couldn't agree with you more. As far as the F350 I wanted, that kind of changed when I started this new job. My commute is 40 miles each way and with a F350 Duallie, my fuel costs will be out of this universe. So for now, the Bimmer will have to suffice. Poor me, I know. :-)
