No news updates for a few days...
I am off to Disney to have fun while there are no lines and there is nice cool weather here in FL! I am also taking this time to send my PowerBook Ti 800 out to Apple to have them replace the imminently failing hard drive. Apparently the tech at the Apple store in the Falls, Miami didn't think I knew what I was talking about and INSISTED that the drive was fine. After thrashing the drive to hell with Norton (I had to use Disk Warrior to recover my data after that mess), the drive is STILL bad. A recent visit to the Disk Utility in Panther revealed the S.M.A.R.T. status for the hard drive as "FAILING". Word to the wise...if you ever see this...YOUR DRIVE WILL FAIL. Back up immediately and call Apple. Lesson to be learned: the Apple store "Genius Bar" people are good for BASIC info and tips, they are NOT the greatest of techs. if you need an airport card or Ram installed, no problem. If you have a major problem, I suggest you send your machine to Apple directly. And if you don't already have it - GET APPLECARE!!! It is worth every penny....cya in a few days...
